Treatment

The title of our film is enslaved.

The duration is 2 minutes.

The film would appeal to mainly mainstream people. This is because horror/psychological horror is quite a popular genre for young people to watch. This is due to the excitement and entertainment from jump scenes, scare techniques and the thrill factor. Adrenaline is also created through watching such films. It would appeal mostly to males as that is the most popular demographic, however, the female gender has, over time, become a stronger demographic than it was. This is due to the content and the effects used in the more modern horror films.

The certificate of the film is a 15, meaning it will allow the whole of the target audience to be able to watch our film. This means that the film can have a strong and loyal fan base. Also through studies, it has been shown that horror films are more appealing to teenagers/young adults as the protagonist in most psychological horror films are young adults/youths eg. Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Distributor:

‘Blumhouse Productions, founded by Jason Blum, is a multi-media production company that has pioneered a new model of studio filmmaking- producing high-quality micro-budget films. Blumhouse has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures and has produced the highly-profitable Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious, and Sinister.

Synopsis: It starts off as an insert shot of a mirror, in a dark room, then a dark hand smashes on the mirror and wipes blood down the mirror. Through the blood on the mirror you can see a dark, grim man. Then it cuts to a bright sunny day on the streets, there is a girl who is walking along the street she looks down to her phone and reads a text off of a man saying "I can't wait to meet you, I really like your profile picture, so cute". She replays "I can't wait for to meet you either". Then it goes back to the dark, grim man and there is another character next to him but she is only filmed from the waist down, she is a ghostly figure. The women character whispers in the man's ear, "Is it another one for me?" It dollies in on the man's face with a concerned expression on his face as he says "No Rose i think this girl could be the one!". It cuts to another sunny scene on the street where the man is walking along looking ready to impress. It cuts to an establishing shot of a cafe with the girl in the man enters the cafe and goes and sits down on the same table as the girl.

One suggested elements of our film is filming in the dark, a shot of a man using narcotics and standing in a pool of blood.
