4: Who would be the audience for your media product?
The target audience is males,
typically between 15-25. We believe that they would be into the adrenaline
lifestyle, going out and playing sport. They would be the mainstream people.
The films that our target audience would watch would be the new popular film
that are fresh out in the cinema. The research we did in our pre-production was
our video questionnaire and the research into which age certificate we could
have for our film. Our age certificate would be 15 as there is violence, blood
and strong language. Other films that are popular with our target audience are
scream and I know what you did last summer, both with a certificate 15. We also
did an audience profile. To help develop our film we took what the audience
said on the video questionnaire, the people we interviewed were aged between 15
and 25(our target audience age), one guy said that the connectivity between the
scenes could be better so we went back and tweaked the script to make them more
connected and used sound bridges to connect two shots together. I believe
that this information helped in the production and development of our film as
the feedback helped with the continuity and verisimilitude which further helps
attract our target audience as it makes the film more believable and engaging
if the continuity is better.
