1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The genre of our media product is a psychological horror and the conventions of the genre that we have implemented into our product are the use of gore, in the opening two minutes of the film there is the use of blood and the suggestion oic and anguish of the film. Our product has slower paced editing which makes the audf murder. Furthermore, there is the convention of having an insane murderer, Nick is haunted by his dead ex-wife and is forced to kill women that he tries to get close to. However the setting of the opening scene is unconventional as it is a bright sunny day and the main characters are on a date, this is a contrast to the conventions of the genre as you would expect it to be dark and grim and in some haunted house or abandoned building. The pace of the editing challenges the convention of the genre, the fast paced editing is genuinely used to convey the panience feel more relaxed and then catch them off guard. The sounds in our product are conventional the eerie, piercing music that makes the audience uncomfortable. The sounds are similar to films such as Seven and Paranormal Activity.
