This is due to the excitement and entertainment from jump scenes, scare techniques and the thrill factor. Adrenaline is also created through watching such films.

It would appeal mostly to males as that is the most popular demographic, however, the female gender has, over time, become a stronger demographic than it was. This is due to the content and the effects used in the more modern horror films.

The certificate of the film is a 15, meaning it will allow the whole of the target audience to be able to watch our film. This means that the film can have a strong and loyal fan base. Also through studies, it has been shown that horror films are more appealing to teenagers/young adults as the protagonist in most psychological horror films are young adults/youths eg. 'Scream' and 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'.
